Antarctic Gateway Audio Trail

In this tour we'll learn more about Ōtautahi Christchurch and its role as an Antarctic gateway city. We'll hear from scientists and artists, historians and curators to get a taste for the magic, adventure and importance of this otherworldly continent.

This tour takes about 90 minutes - longer if you take up all the additional stops. Please take care when crossing roads and click the map icon at the bottom of each tour page if you ever need to make sure you're on the right path!

If you're with young children, have them look out for the Antarctic creature stickers hidden along the route. Scan the sticker to learn more about each creature.
